Boys trip

Alan and Cooper took a road trip out to Hays over Labor Day weekend.  First stop, the artillery near Fort Riley:

The Sternberg Museum in Hays:

Calvin and Hobbes at dinner:

Dessert.  There were many many desserts.

They stopped in Lyons on the way home to visit the barn kittens:

Lyons got tons and tons of rain.  Mom and Dad's backyard looked like this:

Last gasps of summer

Coop and I started a metal R2D2 model.  Oof.  Tough.

Alan and Coop went fishing at a friend's pond:

Snuggling with Simon:

Snuggling with Grandma Marlene, who came to celebrate Cooper's half-birthday since she couldn't make it up in February:

At last!  The first day of second grade:

And something new this year -- Coop is starting karate class:

He earned his white belt after two sessions with Mr. Taylor:

CO Trip, part 10: Food!

Lots of ice cream on the trip!

Waiting with friends for a table at BBQ restaurant.  Hurray for electronics!

An Italian restaurant we tried had a "milk flight" for kiddos -- regular, strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla milk!

Yeah, more ice cream:

And donuts at the Donut Haus in Estes Park:

Henry showing me how he can tie his shoes:

Picking out lures at the Bass Pro Shop:

Writing in a travel journal:

Bobo Fett costume:

Exploring an awesome rock store:

Cool little hummingbirds!  We weren't sure what they were, so we decided they must be a new species, which we named a Goliath Tiger Fly:

CO Trip, part 8: Rocky Mountain National Park

We took a bus up to Bear Lake to hike around a bit.  I was a bit too late administering Dramamine, but Coop (and I) perked up once we got off the bus:

Bear Lake:

Nymph Lake!

The boys were unimpressed with Nymph Lake and instead spent the time digging with rocks and sticks.
